aMute is Jérôme Deuson.
He was born somewhere near Namur and raised somewhere near Mons. He was given his first guitar at the age of 11 and never really looked back since. He followed the well known path of playing in a couple of bands, moving to the big city, playing in a couple of more bands, few concerts, so on. In 2002 Jérôme started his solo project called aMute, a compromise between his passion for so called “Post Rock”, with its traditionally sad melodies, and his taste of all glitches and treatment softwares. Jérôme gave birth to aMute with the aim of releasing some tunes, playing out and meeting people, and that’s exactly what he does now, with honesty, humour and an attitude problem, treated with large amounts of strong beer.
