Eye. began in the winter of 2006 with a somewhat experimental guitar player looking for new ways to get the ideas out of his head and turn them into music. After some solo experimentation, our project grew with the addition of bass player Kwinten and drummer Tom, who would also become our studio technician. When the first songs started to grow in the new three-piece band setup, Bert joined us to lend his voice to the songs that needed it. More recently, we also started looking for someone to fill out the sound with occasional subtle electronical sounds and keyboards, and found Evy, who also saw fit to lend us her gentle singing voice to complement Bert's ominous thunder.

Eye. started as an experimental solo project and stays true to those origins, structuring songs in ways far beyond the limited reach of main-stream rock and metal. In this way, we combine ideas, sounds and techniques from the broad genre-collection often called “post rock” with those of psychedelic and progressive metal, sludge, hardcore and post-core.

However strong these influences may be, the band remains unflinching in its loyalty to the original concept: to make music which serves no other purpose than to create unspoken, primeval concept stories, reminiscent of the terrible and wonderful myths of the first civilizations. Our music is therefore meant to feel like it has a very distinct beginning and ending, much like a storyline. The “Eye.” songs are not meant to be fleeting forms of entertainment, but tribal tellings connected to the primal notions of being human. The name "Eye." comes from the idea of music which brings up the mental images which tell these stories.

We also try to distinguish ourselves by not adhering too much to one uniform sound, trying to make each song sound very different from the others and not lose touch with the many influences and backgrounds we have.
